Background & Training

Liza holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute for Integral Studies and an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Arts from the former Inter-Arts Center at San Francisco State University. Her creativity and expanded artistic perception merged naturally into an easeful holding of existential/analytic, depth oriented and relational frameworks of psychotherapy. This applied artistry of healing allows her to swim into deep waters with clients and emerge with useful symbol, metaphor, a parables that facilitate healing. Liza trained in the San Francisco, CA at Haight Ashbury Psychological Services, the Marina Counseling Center, the third cohort of Access Institute for Psychological Services and in the North Bay’s Lomi Clinic, while receiving years of adjunct consultation-training with experts in complex trauma expressions.

Additionally, she has formal training and experience in death and dying based in Tibetan buddhism, certificates in the shamanic and Buddhist practice of Depth Hypnosis from Isa Guiciardi, education in various Buddhist cosmologies and research interests in pre and perinatal psychology, childhood spirituality, infertility, Steiner pedagogy and mystical streams of consciousness.

For the past 15 years Liza has deepened in the esoteric arts, mediation, energy medicine, Toltec teachings, a long term study with the Foundation for Spiritual Development and is completing a ten year program in cross-cultural, spiritual education with Celebrating Life Ministries.

After 20 years as a traditional therapist, in clinic and private practice, Liza put her therapy license aside and integrated this breath of wisdom into a unique, channeled stream of care. The Inner Work, Consultation, and Spiritual Guidance she offers is an ever evolving medicine bundle of transformation which changes to meet the needs of her clients as she and they both grow.

Liza’s greatest teachers, however, have been her almost adult triple scorpio twins, who have taught her that no amount of education prepares you for spiritual fire of parenthood as it requires a capacity for acceptance, non-conditional Love and patience. For balance, Liza is an adventurer, traveller, earth tender, water keeper, and delights in the intimacy of her relationships. She is inspired by the diversity of the California coast, finds solace in mountain waters and is nurtured by the spaciousness of the cosmic sky. Sagittarius Sun, Capricorn Rising, Pisces moon- she is built to travel into the deep-deep, shepherd others up the cosmic mountain, all while dancing through the intuitive realms bringing back collective wisdom and sincere laughter and joy.
